Where to get breakfast in Folkestone and Sandgate

Two photos side by side: a breakfast roll at The Pullman with bacon, a fried egg and melted cheese, and baked eggs in a cast-iron pan with toasted bread at The Ship Inn, next to the words Breakfast, every day, 10–12, Folkestone & Sandgate

The Pullman, The Ship Inn and Harbour Inn serve breakfast every day from 10AM to 12, weekends included, and brunch dishes until 3PM. Breakfast is walk-in only, so just come along. The three pubs share one breakfast menu, so you can pick by where you’d like to be: the town centre, Sandgate or the harbour. If you’re up earlier, Panataria on Rendezvous Street opens at 9:30AM for coffee and a toasted croissant.

In town: The Pullman

7–9 Church Street, Folkestone CT20 1SE

A cappuccino, a glass of orange juice and a breakfast roll with egg, bacon and cheese on a sunny garden table at The Pullman, Folkestone

The Pullman is our first pub, in the town centre. On a dry morning you can sit out in the garden with the palms. When it’s cold, there’s a fire inside.

In Sandgate: The Ship Inn

65 Sandgate High Street, Sandgate CT20 3AH

Baked eggs in a spiced tomato sauce with spinach, served in a skillet with a slice of toasted bread, at The Ship Inn, Sandgate

The Ship Inn is on Sandgate High Street by the beach, and the restaurant has a sea view. It’s a good place to end up after a morning walk along the seafront from Folkestone.

Near the Harbour Arm: Harbour Inn

24–26 Harbour Street, Folkestone CT20 1QN

Harbour Inn is on Harbour Street, a short walk from the Harbour Arm. Have breakfast here before a walk out along the Arm. For lunch or dinner, our seafood guide has more on Harbour Inn.

Brunch, until 3PM

Breakfast is 10AM to 12. The brunch dishes run on from 10AM until 3PM, so there’s still time if you’re a late starter. They’re on the same menu at all three pubs: Baked Eggs (£14), which is our British take on shakshuka, Eggs Benedict on a toasted bagel (£8.5), Eggs & Avocado on focaccia (£8.5) and Brunch Toast, a cheese sarnie fried in butter with a choice of toppings.

Prices are from our published menus. See the full breakfast menu on each pub’s menu page: The Pullman, The Ship Inn or Harbour Inn.
