Here’s how we’d spend a weekend in Folkestone. Stay at London & Paris Hotel on Harbour Street. Have pizza at Luben on Friday and spend Saturday by the harbour and in Sandgate. Finish with a Sunday roast at The Pullman, Harbour Inn or The Ship Inn.
Lots of people come for the day, walk the Harbour Arm and get the train home. Stay a couple of nights and you’ll see much more of the town.

Where to stay
London & Paris Hotel is at 28 Harbour Street. It has eleven rooms, all adults only, looking over the harbour. Harbour Inn is on the same street, so dinner is never far.
Friday: keep it easy
Start on Rendezvous Street. Luben has served wood-fired pizza and draught beer since 2016. Or go for a pint at Cat & Fiddle on the same street.
The Pullman on Church Street is close by. It was our first pub, which Ben and Lucy took over in 2014, and there’s a fire in the colder months. Pick one and settle in.
Saturday: the sea
Have lunch at Harbour Inn, where the fish comes from the local boats. Our seafood guide has more on what to order. Walk out along the Harbour Arm. If the weather’s kind, walk west along the beach to Sandgate.
The Ship Inn is at 65 Sandgate High Street. There’s been a pub here since 1798, and it joined L&B in 2023. It’s a lovely stop for a pint.
In the evening, head back into town for food at The Pullman, a drink at Cat & Fiddle, or more pizza at Luben.
Sunday: a roast
The Pullman, Harbour Inn and The Ship Inn all do a Sunday roast, so book on Saturday. Our Sunday roast guide has the details, including the vegetarian option. Not a roast fan? Luben is a good lunch before the train.
Worth knowing
Union, our new sports bar on Rendezvous Street, isn’t open yet. The Harbour Arm is best in the sunshine. Coming in December? See our Christmas menus. For more places to drink, read our guide to Folkestone’s pubs.
