The L&B Green Hop Trail brings six Kent green hop beers to four of our pubs: The Pullman, The Ship Inn, Harbour Inn and Cat & Fiddle. The Pullman, The Ship Inn and Harbour Inn are each pouring two of them, and Cat & Fiddle has a selection. The trail started on Wednesday 7 October and runs until Sunday 18 October 2026.

What is green hop beer?
Most beer is brewed with dried hops, which keep all year. Green hop ales are different. The hops go into the brew within 24 hours of picking, before they’ve been dried and pelleted.
That makes them fresher than a normal ale, with a more grassy, herby and resinous taste you don’t get the rest of the year.
Kent has grown hops for centuries, and every September its brewers race to get the new harvest into the kettle. The beers are usually ready to pour in early autumn, and once they’re gone, they’re gone until next year.
